Contact renovation and departure, Real Madrid unveils the next big ‘galactic’ transfer

The club is already working towards the future and wants to ensure the continuity of a regular starter for Ancelotti

Real Madrid continues its roadmap for next season with the aim of strengthening Carlo Ancelotti’s squad and ending the weaknesses that have plagued the team this season.

Florentino Perez could have made a strategic decision for the future, at least according to what Eduardo Inda indicated in the early hours of this Monday on ‘El Chiringuito de Jugones’. The director of ‘OkDiario’ revealed the gesture that Madrid will make soon.

« I am told that Real Madrid will extend the contract of the best goalkeeper in the world at the end of the season. « It ends in 2026 and they want to extend it until 2028. He is number one, » Inda said on the show hosted by Josep Pedrerol about Thibaut Courtois.

Thibaut Courtois could soon renew his contract with Real Madrid.

Courtois, who was unexpectedly absent in the last league match against Rayo Vallecano (2-1), is in his seventh season with Real Madrid, having joined in the summer of 2018 from Chelsea for around 35 million euros.

Over the years, the Belgian goalkeeper has become a universal reference for his work between the posts and, despite Lunin’s good form last year – he could leave this summer – Thibault Courtois has played in the Champions League final and is slowly returning to his old self this year.

Courtois, who played at Atlético Madrid, where he played on loan for three years before returning to Chelsea, has always said he is delighted in Madrid. « I am on the right side of history, » the Flemish goalkeeper said years ago.

Although he is close to 33, the age at which Florentino tends to renew his players’ contracts from season to season, the club could make an exception and offer him a longer renewal, as Courtois is highly regarded at Chamartín and, in addition, goalkeepers are considered to have more « life » than outfield players.
